Monthly pricing benchmarks for 5×5, 5×10, 10×10, 10×15 and 10×20 units across Canadian cities. Per-province averages and the top metropolitan markets by facility count.
WantStorage.ca tracks pricing from 1,194 active self-storage facilities across all 10 Canadian provinces. This index covers 153 cities and 12,188 visible unit-price records. Numbers are computed from operator-published rates only — provincial-average fallback prices are excluded from this dataset and hidden from the live site.

Each row reflects the lowest available monthly rate for that size at each facility — a typical move-in offer. Low outliers come from operators with aggressive intro promotions; high outliers are downtown-Toronto specialty operators where 10×20 units run above $1,400/month.

Methodology
Pricing is captured through a layered extraction cascade. For chain operators we hit per-platform APIs directly: SSTG (Access Storage, Sentinel — converted from weekly), Akiba (Vaultra, Storguard, Diverse Storage), CubbyStorage (Apple Self Storage), StorEdge (Storage HQ), plus per-chain extractors for StorageMart (Apollo state), XYZ Storage, U-Haul, and Public Storage Canada.
For non-chain facilities, a Playwright headless browser renders each operator's page and an LLM extracts the visible pricing. Every extracted rate is checked against a per-size monthly floor so weekly or 4-week rates don't get silently stored as monthly. Each record carries a confidence tier: HIGH (verified API or rendered rates grid), MEDIUM (LLM-extracted from rendered text), or LOW (categorical 'starting from' copy). LOW-confidence aggregates and the prior provincial-average fallback are excluded from this index.
Facilities where the operator does not publish pricing online — about 37% of the active set — are marked 'Pricing not available' on the live directory rather than shown with estimated numbers. Reach the facility directly for a quote on those locations.
